Studio overview

Thoughtfully made. Purposefully built.

We build systems
that grow.

Websites, applications and business tools.
Built around what you need today, with room for what comes next.

Working together

Clarity, from first brief to handover
The starting point

Your business.

Understand the work before the build.
The agreement

A clear scope.

Know what is included, and what is next.
The build

Visible progress.

Review decisions along the way.
The handover

A useful product.

Delivery, guidance and agreed support.

Philosophy

A good launch is a beginning.
Build for what follows.

Your software should make something easier: reaching customers, serving them well, or getting the day’s work done.

We start there. Then bring the design, code and moving parts together in a product that is clear to use and practical to maintain.

First release

Build process

Five stages. A shared understanding.
  1. Agreement & deposit

Align on scope, deliverables, timing and payment terms. Work begins after the agreement and deposit.

  2. Design approval

Review the structure, screens and key interactions. Approve the design before development.

  3. Development

Build the agreed product in working increments, with progress shared for review.

  4. Testing & acceptance

Try the product against the agreed scope. Report issues, review fixes and confirm acceptance.

  5. Final payment & delivery

Complete the final payment, then receive access to your hosted application and guidance for using it.

And then, support. The support period and coverage are agreed before work begins. New features and ongoing maintenance can be scoped separately.

Before we begin

A few useful answers
What do I need to get started?

A short description of your business, who the product is for and what it needs to help them do. An existing website, rough sketch or list of problems is useful, but you do not need a finished specification.

How are pricing and payment decided?

Your proposal separates the one-time Custom Software Development & Implementation Fee from agreed hosting, maintenance and support fees. Scope, license rights, payment terms and service-end terms are set out before work starts.

How long will my project take?

Timing depends on the scope, integrations and review process. We agree a schedule before starting, including the feedback and materials needed from you.

Can the scope change during a project?

Yes. We discuss the effect on cost and timing, then agree the change before adding it to the build. This keeps the original deliverables and new requests clear.

Do I receive the source code?

Our standard model is Managed Custom Software: MeriTree retains the software IP and source code, and your hosted software license is included while the agreed service is active. Your business data, content and branding remain yours. Any different ownership or source-file rights must be stated in your agreement; existing confirmed terms still apply.

What happens after delivery?

Managed Hosting, Maintenance & Support keeps your application running under the scope and fees agreed for your service. New features are quoted separately. The service agreement also defines data export and what happens when hosting ends.
